At MarketKitani, our mission is to support local businesses in Brunei by providing a platform that connects them with customers in a simple and accessible way. Our goal is to create an online marketplace that helps entrepreneurs showcase their products to a wider audience while navigating the transition to e-commerce effectively.
We are focused on fostering growth for small and medium-sized enterprises by offering tools and features that make it easier to manage and expand their businesses. By supporting local businesses, we aim to contribute to the development of Brunei's economy in a sustainable and impactful way.
Through innovation and continuous improvement, MarketKitani strives to be a reliable platform where businesses can thrive and customers can discover local products conveniently. We are committed to being a resource that helps entrepreneurs succeed in the growing digital marketplace.
MarketKitani was created as a project by three final-year students from IBTE – Darwisy, Hamdi, and Harith. During our final semester, we wanted to develop a platform that could address the challenges faced by local businesses in Brunei, particularly in gaining online visibility and competing in the e-commerce space.
The idea was inspired by the challenges we observed within the local business landscape. Many small businesses in Brunei faced difficulties gaining online visibility and competing with larger, global platforms. We wanted to change that. With our combined skills and passion, we decided to build an e-commerce website tailored specifically to the needs of Brunei’s local businesses and shoppers.
Inspired by the needs of the local business community, we combined our skills to build an e-commerce website tailored specifically for Brunei’s market. The platform was designed to be user-friendly and functional, making it easier for sellers to list products and for buyers to find and purchase them.
As part of our Final Year Project, we worked to ensure MarketKitani is not just a marketplace but a practical solution that bridges the gap between traditional business practices and modern e-commerce. The project taught us valuable lessons about collaboration, problem-solving, and the potential of digital tools to support local businesses.
We are proud of what we have achieved with MarketKitani and are optimistic about its future as a platform that can continue to evolve and benefit Brunei's business community.
